Though it is published in early spring of the current year, our Annual Report is designed to reflect and report on the finances, activities and events of the previous year. Like the rest of the world, we were relieved to bid farewell to 2020; but are proud of how we met the unique challenges of that crazy year with the support of our friends, funders and colleagues.

2020 tested our organization, our community and our nation, but was met with strength, kindness, generosity and resilience.

Here at Safe Harbors, we prioritized the health and wellness of our residents and staff members; we strived to be sensitive and responsive to issues of isolation, uncertainty and social, racial and political upheaval; and we dedicated ourselves to lifting the spirits and soothing the souls of our community members with a weekly dose of virtually presented dance, music, spoken word and critical conversation.

With the incredible generosity of foundations and individual donors who rose to the occasion with speed and magnanimity, we were able to absorb the loss of programming revenue and manage the increased cost of essential supplies. Having this strong network of support allowed us to continue to strengthen our mission of transforming lives and building community through housing and the arts.

Times of crisis test our mettle and, during this unprecedented year, I was proud to work alongside an incredible team of dedicated colleagues in service to a community that supports those most in need.

Thank you to each and every one of you, and stay well!

Onward!
