Safe Harbors has many anniversaries to celebrate … our founding and incorporation in 2000; the purchase of the Hotel Newburgh in 2002, the opening of the Cornerstone Residence in 2006; the welcoming of two new commercial tenants to our Broadway commercial spaces in 2014; and the development of beautiful Safe Harbors Green in 2015.
This year, as we celebrate 20 years since the purchase of the Hotel Newburgh, and its transformation into the innovative, supportive housing model it is today, we look forward to expanding our unique brand of downtown redevelopment and adding new anniversaries to the calendar!
In my remarks in our 2022 Newsletter, I made reference to Safe Harbors plans for a second community responsive housing development. Since that time, we
have made significant strides on that project and look forward to the opportunity to help meet the demand for affordable, quality housing, downtown revitalization, and employment opportunities in the City of Newburgh.
We look forward to sharing details of this exciting new project as it develops! In the meantime, please enjoy reflecting back on an action-packed year of engaging
new programming in Ann Street Gallery; an expanded, weekly farmers market; the introduction of the Soul Under the Stars performance series; the inaugural
BIPOC Artists Fellowship; and so much more!
