We are pleased to share this strategic framework for Safe Harbors of the Hudson, which was developed in collaboration with our board, staff, community stakeholders, and La Piana Consulting. The time, effort, and care invested by so many into this process has enabled Safe Harbors to chart an ambitious path forward, anchored by our mission and the wonderful people who make up our community.
Our new strategic framework reflects both Safe Harbors’ 25-year legacy and a bold vision for the future. It outlines how we plan to strengthen our mission, grow our footprint, and deepen our impact on the community we serve in the coming years. The following report shares our process, the strategic direction we’ve decided upon, and the goals and framework we will use to get there. We identified six key priorities that will drive our work and guide our growth, collaborations, engagement, and innovation.
Through this planning process, we reaffirmed our mission of transforming lives and building community through housing and the arts, and expanded our core values – transformative, collaborative, inclusive, innovative, and sustainable – to include responsible, underscoring our commitment to stewarding land, people, places, and history with care and a focus on long-term impact. As a result of this reflective process, we’ve created an equity-centered plan that we believe will further our mission, and deepen our connection to our community.
We are grateful to live and work in a place with such care, culture, and compassion; it was a real pleasure to work with many voices to reflect on our position and create a plan for our future that serves us all. We move forward with clarity, purpose, and a renewed commitment to our sustainability, our growth, and our community.
