We officially opened Safe Harbors Green, a beautiful half-acre urban park on the corner of Liberty Street and Broadway.
We closed out 2016 with a bang – a $500,000 grant from New York State for the planning, design and construction of a new roof on the historic Ritz Theater!
This time last year, Safe Harbors Green was little more than design drawings on paper. Now, it is a beautiful, fully accessible space with abundant gardens, shade trees, benches and public art.
The development and opening of Safe Harbors Green has created an urban park for everyone to enjoy … a beautiful, peaceful, environmentally friendly and accessible oasis in our downtown.
With the trust, belief and help of our community of supporters, Safe Harbors will continue to innovate, seek opportunity and be nimble and responsive in forwarding our mission of transforming lives and building community through housing and the arts.
This year, with the purchase of the vacant lot at the corner of Broadway and Liberty St., Safe Harbors made the bold and strategic decision to more fully realize our mission as we expand our footprint, our impact and our ability to transform lives and build communities.
Safe Harbors of the Hudson believes all housing must first and foremost strive to treat all tenants with dignity and respect. Safe Harbors’ first project began in December 2002.
